About Patreon AKA the place where people ask for donations

I recently found this music creator I really like, and he has the most humble attitude on his patreon: https://www.patreon.com/turboa
It almost makes me think that most people who open a patreon take a needy attitude to asking for money.
I'm not sure, just my opinion. What are your opinions on patreon?

My opinion is that you are this author and in fact asking us for money in a round'about way
Patreon is a business model. If you think it's a donation box you're wrong. I mean, you're not wrong, but you're WRONG. NO ONE GIVES A SHIT ABOUT DONATING. If you want to run a patreon you better have something to sell or no one will give money to you. Oh yeah I'm not talking to you specifically but now you've heard my opinion lol gotem.
ko-fi is more for "donating" anyway since it allows one time payments, as opposed to having to subscribe and remembering to unsubscribe...

Patreon's a way to consistently support artists/media/content you like. You give money - they get to keep making that content you like.
It's somewhere between being a full-blown business and asking for donation, I guess. If no one's giving them money, the artist don't get to create anything. But as long sufficient people are pitching in, they get to release their thing for free.

I'm a patron to several people myself, not because of the perks, just because I want them to keep working on their thing.
But not gonna lie, the extra goodies I get do help my decision.

I do like supporting people and getting something physical or digital immediately. Feels less like charity.

I was using it as creator.. honestly i like this platform for financing servers, domain, things for project and from rest i can support also my personal things.. fees could be better, but i think that are fair for additional value, and are acceptable ^^
