So, hearing my own voice while talking to someone or watching records where I'm present feels strange. It's not like I don't like the way it sounds, it just makes me feel really fucking weird.

That's because normally you hear a combination of sounds that can be heard from outside and inside of your skull. Mics only record what's outside.
You'll get used to it eventually if you listen to those recordings for long enough.
