Should I try to make a career out of my hobby?

| Or in doing that, I'll end up hating my hobby?

| Depends on your character and the hobby itselft I guess. I know people who made their hobby to their job and ended up liking it and vice versa.

| There's always a high chance you'll end up hating it. Try it bit by bit if possible, see if doing it professionally works for you before going all in.

| It's like setting a song you like on the ringtone.

I'll one up ya, it's like setting a song you like on the morning alarm.

| If you turn what you enjoy into work you won't work a day in your life.

| You can never tell until you try. Different people and different hobbies affect the result.

In the end, it's about both doing something you like as a job and having some hobbies.

Good we'll crafted argument. I'm sure you know what you're talking about!

OP: You'll probably regret it if you didn't try. Life is short so try to find what makes you happy.

| I'll give you a better idea (maybe) - make a career that's RELATED to your hobby and/or one that allows you to practice your hobby but doesn't turn the hobby itself into a job.

Got any examples of how something like that might look like?

You like fishing so you start a boat renting business?...

Personally, I don't quite see how it would work.
