what is your recommendation for OCR? I'm gonna mostly scan japanese or korean into character from book or image to text and put them though google translate.

I know google translate has an app that can do that but I found the most success with finding characters in japanese with an app call takoboto. You can build a character radical by radical and it'll translate it instantly since it's a dictionary. Also if you don't mind drawing then you can also look up "kanji search by drawing" on google and draw the kanji you see and get a pretty accurate replication. Let me see if I can find the website...
