I woke up too early g/u/rls, let's have a proper discussion, what's your favourite hobby? And why?
Mine is probably skating, it gets me out the house and I've had so many new experiences because of it

Martial Arts. It's useful, an alright workout, and something I am always getting better at every time I practice. It's also one of my jobs now, although that turned out to make it harder to practice regularly, so I think I'll look for something else.

I like coding for fun. Nothing complicated, just recreating the simple apps that already exist. It feels good when it works, and when it's broken beyond repair, I can just walk away.

I enjoy modelling stuff in Blender, I have been putting some of my work into Sketchfab downloadable for free.
I'm hoping that I can get myself to make a 3D anime character someday.

Everything game design related is kind of a big hobby of mine, but since I'm not doing a lot with that knowledge I'd say my biggest hobby right now is Dungeons and Dragons. I have an amazing group of friends that I play with and it's so much fun. Tons of things you can learn about and go in-depth about in it too, and home-brewing makes the game so delicious.

>>36a987 that's a cool hobby, I used to do martial arts when I was younger too, really helped me stay fit, and aye, some hobbys are dream jobs and some are better as hobbys, hope you find out which is which as painlessly as possible

>>618246 Ay, thanks bro.
Yeah, game design and world building is fucking awesome. I've been a huge fan of everything game design related for years and it's so cool. If you want to get into it the YouTube channel Game Maker's Toolkit has a lot of cool stuff that's beginner friendly and explains things that developers do to make games fun and interesting and how to design good games, good levels etc.

Just... playing goddamn video games. I have some passing interests such as fictional worldbuilding, tabletop RPGs and recently I've been enamored by fighting games and their design but nothing concrete I do on a regular basis

Videogames are fun.
I also kinda like drawing as a hobby, even though I myself don't really like to actually draw, if that makes any sense? What I mean is that drawing is cool and I have immense respect for people who do that, but whenever I try to draw something the result sucks, so I get discouraged and don't draw all that much. Man, I suck. :\

I like to draw as well, currently I am designing the groundwork for my own comic. It’s more a passion project, just for the sake of saying that I made a comic book. Still it’s fun to create and develop a world.... gotta work on my art though

My theory: growing up in internet era makes reading books harder, as it's harder to focus on long reads. I, personally, get distracted very easy. But still, I thing, working in that direction is rewarding.
and that's one of things you can try to improve in while getting institutionalised quick hello from cigs thread :)

I like reading. I reaaaally like reading. To the point when I don't have anything to read I get angry and depressed. Also I can easily drop a book at the middle at the end if I see something that bothers me, mostly logical errors. If I have a good book I can read it non stop, forgetting to eat. (but it becomes harder and harder to find a book that i would like)

>>620299 Have you tried the Monogatari series? Amazing light novel series (around 26 books I think) that is, well, it's kind of hard to explain the series, but I recommend you give it a shot. You can start on either Bakemonogatari or Kizumonogatari. Though if you want to go by release order, start with Bakemonogatari.

Bartending. I've discovered the job during my studies and really got into it. And it became my job and my passion. I spend a lot of time learning about cocktails and spirits (especially whisky). All the different things you can craft, it's crazy.

You know what, I had nearly read all of Márquez's works.Including his biography and speeches. In my opinion, many of his long novels don't have the same achievements as his short novels. For his long novels,I prefer his biography and El Amor En Los Tiempos Del Colera,El general en su laberinto. And of course,Cien años de soledad. As for my favorite writers, there are three of them which are Márquez ,Julio Cortázar, who also comes from south america, and a chinese writer Lu Xun.>>5f1fae

>>5f1fae You really should give these three writers a try cuz they are probably of the best short novel writers all around the world. And I really like The sound and fury by William Faulkner. You should try that, too.
