it's much easier to just criticize people. and besides over-reinforcement can lead to perfectionism which is unproductive. but at the same time i don't want to criticize too much because i don't want to be criticized too much either. how to get that middle ground balance to become the ultimate based person when it comes to criticism?

I mean, why criticize people at all unless what they do or how they think directly affects you and your life?
It's just a waste of time and emotions otherwise.

When criticising something is useless (namely doesn't make the conversation progress, for example indirectly calling someone a silly person, by mocking the way they do things, or don't do things), then it's just shit talk, which equals being an asshole.
On the other hand you might be giving too much importance to criticism.
Perfectionism can be useful.
