Is it a healthy way to let off steam or does it lead to bad habits and awful mindsets? Would it be preferred or better for ones mind if they never shitposted at all?

I think it depends on the situation. Just fucking around, having a laugh shouldn't be much of a problem, but purposely causing trouble, putting people down, and starting fights probably isn't too healthy.

Shitposting makes it less comfy.

It's definitely unhealthy. Even if you're just messing around or being ironic you're still spreading shitty behavior to easily impressed people, such as teens and the intellectually lazy.
There are ways to let off steam that doesn't contribute to negativity and on small sites like this one it can easily disrupt the comfiness and make nice people stop visiting.
Besides, pretending to be retarded is actually retarded no matter how ironic you tell yourself you are.
