I think it's too late for 4chan now, it's become reddit's imageboard. If you want 4chan level memes it's gonna be on twitter, but no way in hell am I gonna give them my phone number and then reshare edgy memes.
Google+ used to have good stuff but.. maybe that's why they shut it down..

| lainchan/arisu are the only good boards I've found recently that still move relatively quickly, but there are some places like wizchan and the sushi restaurant one that get the occasional post. I haven't found any textboards that are as nice as here.
I do like reddit, but you really have to look for the chiller hobby subs. None of the big ones run very well.
