| Understand science takes intellectual effort. It requires questioning your own beliefs, weighing evidence, accepting uncertainty, and sometimes admitting you're wrong. That's harder than accepting a conspiracy that gives you a simple answer and makes you feel like you've discovered something everyone else is too blind to see.
| Believing a conspiracy has an inherent bit of narcissism in it, because you have to believe you know more than others with less data than them.
