I guess I'm just kinda sad about not being able to socialize with people around my age.

Replacing IRL socialisation with VR doesn't sound healthy but hey what do I know. It might be better than loneliness. There was a time in my life where I spent more time with online friends than irl friends too, but I can't say I wasn't lonely back then.
| I also have trouble socialism with people my age. Most of my irl friends are buying into various propaganda efforts that makes them slightly angry and hateful. They never want to talk about any solutions to the problems they whine about, only emotional reactions and projections. We mostly go to the gym or talk at the convenience store another friend owns. We play a lot of coop horror games, friendslop and Project Zomboid too.

My oldest friends don't do any of the above mentioned toxic shit but we rarely see each other nowadays despite playing ttrpgs through discord biweekly. We made plans for a trip this autumn though which is gonna be great.
My exgf is the quiet type so we mostly watch movies or fuck.

Idk, I still have like two online friends. It's easier to find people in VR or hang out with my two online friends. I won't close the door to IRL people, but it's hard to find someone IRL to befriend.
