Parents reaction to this?

| okay so it's my first year in college (it's free so money is not an issue here)
failed almost all my classes( i slacked off and got tired from how hard it is)
skipped some classes (my parents don't know that)
they know i failed the first semester but they expect me to get back and pass the year
im gonna fail the year for slacking off idk what to do
i can't just tell them i slacked off they'd kill me or take my laptop away(which is worse than killing me)

| and if i told them it's just hard they won't believe that "how can you go from 18/20in highschool mathto 2/20 "

| im so done man i don't know what to do
(major is computer science)

| lock tf in or change to a specialty you actually enjoy studying/working in

| >>eed330 that's not the issue here i can just redo the year and try harder but my parents won't accept that

| Stop slacking off?

| >>542fc0 yesss i will butttt it's like we got 3 exams left
how do i convince my parents that it's okay to redo a year

| if you don't find out why you slacked another year is not likely to bear result unless you're truthfully resolved

| if you find the reasons for your failure you might wanna present them to prove you can overcome the the next year if possible
that'd soften the music a bit i guess

| >>1094321 18/20+2/20=20/20 not a problem

| you'll still get a whipping depending on how sour your parents are though

| you reap what you sow

| >>eed330 they're not the whipping type but if they take my laptop im basically crippled

| >>1094340 use the trump card "i need it for my studies"

| >>eed330 lmao ill do that

| >>1094328 just be half-honest to them g/u/rl.
If you really want to and think you can make it and lock in then tell them you underestimated the effort university requires but that you're ready now.
Also they can't take your laptop away. How tf r u gonna study without it.

| >>1094321
>take my laptop away(which is worse than killing me)
I think they should do that if that is the case

| Surprisingly good advice from everyone in this thread.

Yeah just suck it up, op. Needing the laptop for your studies is valid, they won't take it away.

But it seems to me like there's probably a reason why you're slacking off like that. Like, are you depressed, g/u/rl? Do you hate your study, or your life? "Try harder" isn't gonna cut it if there's a deeper reason

| Also - casino and 6-pack of beer

>take laptop away
>computer science

oh yes, coding on paper

| >>9ad1a7 i meant in the summer vacation

| First year of college is a classic pitfall, you're suddenly given more liberty so you relax. Find some friends and study with them, so long as you dont slack off the whole time you should be fine. CS is easy anyways.

| It's CS, just do the assignments. If you can't do the assignments, become more delusional, assume yourself to be God's best computer toucher, take a shower and think about the problem, then just do it.

| be honest with your parents
get a summer job
realize it's time to become an adult

| >>1094402 "Find some friends" loool

Mbe u can do therapy and the therapist will help u know why u don’t study. Idk. I did that and the therapist said I stop caring about things when I’m stressed, and I think it’s true.

I think a job would be really good for you, it’s good to know you’re capable of adult tasks, and you can buy a new laptop!

Finding friends in college isn't that hard...

| >>1094468 finding friends for dummies:
1. locate someone else of the same sex
2. ask them a question (if they have a sticker or tshirt with something you know on it ask about that "oh you watch X? me too!" or a common situationship "How about this course huh?" or "How about that weather huh?"
3. dont force it if conversation fizzles out
4. repeat daily with same people + different people
Once this settles in, improvise and extend procedure with trial and error.

>How about that weather huh?
She ain't middle-aged lol

| >>1094509
This is shit advice.

| >>1094511
cheesy, overused and boring? yes. but weather is universal and if you literally cannot think of anything else it works

Cool read!
I actually hung out a little once or twice with people in uni but never made it to friendship, but probably if I’d gone through more people I would have.
