I speak both spanish and english. At the place I work, there's only one other who also speaks Spanish. During lunch, we usually hang out to talk and we do in our language. But when other people join our table, we like to talk in Spanish about topics we don't really wanna bring to others, so we just go back and forth.
Would you consider it rude to speak in a foreign language when there's people that can't understand you, even if you aren't really trying to converse with them?

The existence of Spain and its descendant nation is innately rude. If you knew how to be polite, you would've already ended yourself. Or at least performed cultural erasure.

>>1070568 I have colleagues who do this all the time and I don’t care. I would have done the same. Don’t worry about it, really.

It’s a little sad to remember the division between people. But you have your own interests to look after too.

I wouldn't say it's necessarily rude but it's helluva nice and a sign of character to include her. Talking about stuff you don't really care about is kinda a stable of lunchroom talk anyway imo.

Turn the lunch table into a classroom and roleplay as two spanish language teachers.

I think it's rude, but perhaps it isn't depending on where you are?

>>1070568 Yes. People who speak mine do the same with me and I never engange when someone who doesn't speak it is present in the conversation because I hate it when it happens to me. It feels like youre a third wheel that cant fully engage with the others.
