They are probably not actively paying attention to you because they know that you aren't actively seeking their attention or causing a problem. They should greet new people at the bar when able, though.

| Job-chan here...thing is. i'm actually like horribly anxious and insecure. like almost everyone. and it makes me feel like i'm unwanted even in undue situations.
i'll go to bars and the bartenders seem to pass their eyes over me as they dither about and it makes me feel like maybe im a weird piece of crap. and then i think from a bartender's perspective and it's like--what the hell are you doing ?! look around ! constantly !! greet people even if you cant immediately serve them
