need help cutting ties

| asking for a friend, but what if you suddenly got in contact with a guy from your highschool days that hasn't changed at all since then (which is a problem since you're trying to leave those days behind you)
What is the most polite but firm and curt way of cutting ties with said person?
this is for a friend thanks

| ‘You’re still as charming as you once were, but well, we have to decide what we’re going to do with our lives. I’ve left behind X and Y because I am committed to Z and A. I hope I’ll have the times I had with you in the next life, but for now, as frost said, I have miles to go before I sleep. Safe travels my friend.’

| Is the problem the high school or the guy? Well I guess either way you should just straight up say sorry and tell them you don't want to talk to them.

Though, if the problem is the high school you should probably examine why you're taking it out on the guy. Maybe tell them what the problem is, idk.

| Tell him “please fuck off”. The word “please” makes whatever you say next polite, so it will be fine.

| Ghost him. That's what I did.

| You could pigbutchering scam him if he really hurt you in the past. Take his everything, and leave him in bitter despair!

agh i don't /hate/ hate him i just moved on and am really uncomfortable being reminded of when i was an andrew tate fan

| invite him out and eat his flesh

| tell it to him straight. ghosting sucks ass, and being indirect about it can lead to misunderstandings.

| Just don't invest much in the relationship, if he's normal he'll get the hint and move on to his own shit too. If he tries to force things be like "look, that was a long time ago, it seems like you want more than I'm willing to give rn, I've got my own shit to do, take care"

I did this to acquaintances on 3 different occasions and they ended up talking shit about me FOR YEARS after I stopped seeing them. Insecure loners can be such douchebags sometimes and honestly I regret giving them a chance. Like, who the hell spends years of their lives thinking about and talking smack about former acquaintances??

| good luck with cutting ties and all that, but have you tried cutting your wrists?
