| The wild west of unregulated online communities are a thing if the past. That era is gone. Nowadays you need moderation because trolls and unemployed losers are not only more common today than 15-20 years ago they're also more jaded and vindictive. They basically live to destroy nice things.

| I like 4chan because there are people that share some of my worldview:
- we should strive to make robotwaifus real
- we should support games with hot girls in them, but generally avoid predatory gacha
- we should shit on the bloated, inefficient, not-optimizing, safe horny, AAA game companies. Indie gaming must rise.
- we should encourage freedom in the concepts involved in fictional creation..

The most "troublesome" citizens are mostly on /pol/, and there are many anons that have given me many smiles through the years.

| I think it’s partially that they don’t want to say the names of worse sites and just want a word for edgy/contrary/uninhibited internet, and ‘4chan’ serves the purpose, more as a general idea than the specific place. A modern ‘here there be dragons’ if you would
