Someone mentioned kecap bango a while back so I looked it up and apparently it's 50/50 ketchup and soy sauce? That can't be good, can it?
I used to work as a chef so I have experience with cooking fried rice(for western customers) and I have learned that there is more to Chinese flavours than soy sauce. My personal favorite is a mix of oyster sauce, hosin sauce and sesame seed oil that I pour over the rice before heating.

I was the one who mentioned kecap bango and op, what you need to look up in some nasi goreng recipe (indonesian fried rice).
I'm usually lazy though, so it's just garlic + chilli if I have it + whatever protein I have on hand + a little butter + salt + sweet soy sauce (the kecap I meant. bango is peak brand, but any other brand works honestly)
