How long does it feel good for you to buy a watch?
Post number #1052382, ID: 89547f
| I'm primarily addressing those of you who purchase wristwatches for reasons beyond just telling the time.

I understand that buying a nice wristwatch brings joy to life.

How long would you say that you experience a noticeable heightened sense of happiness that stems solely from the purchase of the new watch?

What does the process look like when that feeling of happiness begins to fade, and what timeframes are we talking about?

| Can one observe a lasting elevated sense of happiness, or does it inevitably fade over time, returning completely to the level before the purchase?

This was a bit of what I was pondering this evening. But please don't feel constrained by my questions; anything related to the topic is open for discussion on my part.

Have a great evening!

| Only watch that bring you happiness everytime is the one gifted by your loved one, that can remind you of them everytime you look at your wrist.

In the book thinking fast and slow, a clever Jewish man who knows statistics and psychology said that when you get excited about an object you’ll always overestimate the happiness because it becomes normal. It was pretty interesting! Also he said that we remember emotional peaks and the ends of things, but that’s wrong because life is all the moments, which I also found interesting. Apparently there were replication issues though with the stuff he cites.

| I think temporary pleasures are still great! But they should be priced in knowing it’ll be fun for a few days.

| Funny post.

People obsess over headphones, keyboards, mice, screens, phones. Entire channels like ltt talk about a 2 grand conversation starter with a straight face, or explain how somehow it'll make you more productive.

I appreciate the straightforwardness and will steal this as an idea for a video. A real they live moment assuming it's not a meme post.

God bless

| The watch I have from my father always brings joy to me. I have two watches, my work watch and my me watch. The practical and the personal. Everytime I get to wear my personal watch, I know it's gonna be a good day. It's small, it's simple, but it's mine, a part of me.

If I were to buy another watch, I'd wait until I found something that struck me, and then I'd wait again to see if it struck me again. I wouldn't search either, just wait until something comes along naturally.

That’s very charming. It’s interesting how they get you in different mindsets
