G/u/rl you need to kill them systemically these numbers are not enough. Can you look into resources for this or even call up the government departments and things which help farmers? Cuties like you shouldn’t be tired out running after these never ending creatures! Plus you might feel less cuddly I’ve heard people who work in animal slaughter feel that way. But I’m glad you’ve got heart!

I support the eradication of rats because of the hygiene problem. However, I do not support animal cruelty. Authorities should look at you.

>>1051045 ??? Water traps are inhuman? Stacked stone traps are inhuman? I don't really know what you are trying to convey here. Maybe I should just settle down for poisons and hope that they start vomiting blood as their insides are being melted? g/u/rl, I'm just trying to get rid of rodents, I don't even take pleasure in that. I see myself sharing these posts here as a way of keeping the site alive and engaging a little. Do these posts make you uncomfortable?

>>1051053 They do a little because like there was that mean spirited website investigation of the monkey torture ring back when I lurked there (mbe not the best thing) and the torturers liked to justify torturing the monkeys with taking frustrations out on pests and being strong and capable. I guess the site itself actually uses that justification too. It’s good to feel strong and capable and fight bad things but you’re treading close to a bad road. Focus on the war not the battle.

You could get a trail cam and start giving us numbers spotted per day, or show us a pic of traps and water/food access mitigations you’ve created! Just less death and direct killing unless your numbers are going up. It’s an understandable human instinct to want to chase and kill and win but it’s an uncomfortable one for a reason too, and I want to see you happy and capable not from direct violence, but only using it as a careful tool- that’s what the best generals did too!

>>1051071 I appreciate your i put, but I'm myself against killing macacas. I don't know any other way of eliminating rats without murder. I don't catch any live rat and torture it. Just kill it on sight and be done with it. The traps are nothing out of ordinary, one is a store bought live trap. If something gets caught in it, I drown it. Other one is just a wooden plank and some washing machine stones on a rope. They pull it and it drops, crushing them on spot.

Smart g/u/rl And thanks for not being mad I felt a little aggressive making that post I bought spring mouse style rat traps which worked on squirrels at the hardware store once. Little piece of wood and metal bar which comes down. Cheap And effective and I reused them. I talked to a farming advocate too! She said you need fences buried not to be dug under and then just shoot the rest with a .22 maybe. The fences sounded like a good idea.
