>>1050810 because it's physical media that will survive 100 years of lying in your closet

>>1050810 It's a cool colletible and listening to vinyl records is kinda fun, but it's not everyone's cup of tea so it's okay if it's not for you! There are also people who really enjoy playing cassette tapes despite the sound quality being terrible!

>>1050810 well, I mostly just like old school stuff which is why I got it. I do computer engineering so I've learned how to make pc's from nothing but logic gates, working my way up to modern cpu/gpu stuff, learning all that gave me big love for old tech since I basically worked and learned old tech for years for my job and career and shit. ALSO ITS JUST COOL.

>>1050810 idk, i think even in terms of aesthetics, digital storage is cooler. because you don't really see where the music is stored so it kinda has a non-physical vibe to it

It would be cool if like your house was filled with projectors and an ethereal faded image of the album cover floated in the mist and when you played it it became more solid

>>1050810 you get to actually own the physical media you buy, you can support the local economy by going to local vinyl shops. Why vinyls specifically over say cds? They're cool, the art on them is pretty, and turntable machines are pretty easy to maintain. In general, once I started moving my shit to physical media, I couldn't go back. Buying is own, you're listening and love is yours. Plus I hate headphones, and playing this shit on speakers sounds heavenly.
