| Aww I hate vapid bullshit too. I don’t like the idea that cis and having children are bad boring people without will or vision. But I think it’s important it is exposed in so much as it really is positive and self expression, so they can see examples of real self expression, just as they should hear real stories of Islamists and communities and fascists and liberals and parents and artists who all defined themselves and their path through life through what inspired them.
| I think a lot of the pro trans stuff is very vapid and can give that feeling, when it’s just ‘I am more special than others and have brightly colored clothes and now I make my parents say how accepting they are and question others about it and make them feel ashamed and I have the answers not them’ but many trans stories are really happy and beautiful and intelligent capable people who weren’t attacking others to feel cool, but overcoming great pain and helping the next person.
