I live in a very high cost of living city. Normally to get a 1 bedroom or studio would cost me like at least $1200 a month. However, I've got a friend whose closet I'm subletting for only $300 a month. By many metrics I have a unicorn of a deal - I live in a city with high economic opportunity while living in one of the safest neighborhoods. I don't have a parking space but I can park on the street without worrying about thieves.
However, there's one thing that's been bothering me

which is the lack of sunlight. My "room" looks the exact same in night and day, and it's been kinda getting to me. Even with alarm clocks I can't help but wake up at weird hours of day all the time. And when I do wake up, it takes forever since there's no sunlight streaming in to sort of wake my body up.
I mean, beggars can't be choosers right? This deal is still quite good and i certainly don't want to 4x my housing cost, but it's been a bit of a struggle. #FirstWorldProblems ig

I do have enough space for myself - the closet isn't exactly big (it's about the size of a prison cell) but there's a big living room so it's not like I'm locked into a coffin 24/7.

If you're a man you'll grown out of it, if you're a woman, I'm so sorry for your curse

I personally can't live in a room without a window. I'd spend minimum time there and just hang out in the living room (or outside) all the time.
