| B-but there wasn’t a contradiction. Unique things ARE things you made. Authentic moments ARE like sexuality. I think the real problem is not having people feel like you feel want important things. I’ve had things I worked really hard on and people just didn’t care, and my personality is a mild silly amusement to my family rather than anything beautiful. | What's wrong with people knowing it's your work? You don't think friends of big and popular artists don't also go "yeah that's definitely Joe's work"? Of course they can tell, they're your friends. It's not a slight.
I see what you're trying to say though, like you feel your usual art isn't that great but you make something you're really happy with and different from your usual and people still go, yeah that's your art.

I think most people will be happy that their friends understand them to such a degree that they always recognize them, that their presence mean something to their friends, but I understand the other way around too.

Ooooh good point- I didn’t read it that way. Maybe she could identify specific parts of herself she doesn’t want in that work and make something really small without them and see how she feels. I bet they’d be lesser because I like all my g/u/rls.

I sent some people some lyrics the other day and they instantly recognised they were mine as well as praised the aspects of my writing that they like and find unique/interesting/special
It feels good to be recognised if you genuinely love and have confidence in your work

| You ever do something creative thinking it's unique but have someone else look at it and it becomes painfully obvious that you made it.
