This is an interesting story. The gist of it is TV Anime is more profitable than Netflix because everyone watch it at the same time with bigger hype on social media so they're more likely to be a hit and merchs sell better, so JP companies prefer to put things they expect to be a hit on TV and those less likely to sell on Netflix, which makes things harder for Netflix financially.

Since their plan to focus on anime series failed, Netflix plans to focus on feature-length animated films instead in the near future. It should also be noted that many of Netflix's original anime series, as in the stuff they themselves produce or even animate and not just broadcast, are usually seen as “pretty but bad” in Japan so they aren't getting any traction.

The article also flat-out said that Netflix's exclusive anime library doesn't have many hits (they do pay slightly more for the production cost, though).
As you may already know, Netflix Japan has weekly airings, so it shouldn't face the same "Netflix Jail" problem we have but the main issue (maintaining fanbase's hype) is pretty similar regardless.

Netflix only pay exclusivity, they participated in the production of merely 2 animes.

RIP BOZO YOU WON'T BE MISSED as much as I liked some Netflix licensed anime I hate Netflix itself and I'd rather have them get cut off from anime before doing damage to it worse than bad live action adaptations FUCK NETFLIX
