According to polls, France has a lower level of LGBT self-identification - at 8% - than most other developed European nations, and less than half of the frontrunner India, where 17% fall onto the spectrum. This runs contrary with the common understanding that homosexuality in France is quite the common phenomenon. This begs the question, why is France not gay? Being french is already gay, but not gay-gay. I skimmed through the source and woah Malaysia according to the source isn't so postive towards LGBT+.

Hmmm, the source in question states that for France (and for other countries) they took a sample population of a 1000 and then extrapolated it to the countries population from a sample origin of about 19,000 data inputs/individuals.
However, some of the data presented used a sample population of 500 with very narrowed down criteria (i.e urban, more educated, and more affluent) for certain counties (i.e Malaysia.)

I bet if France were to have the same focused sampling, the data would give a more positive results for LGBT+ input.
Now, for an actual reason for "France not gay?" No idea. Don't know enough about France apart low hanging jokes about frogs and cheese and snail eating.

17% lgbt India?! That would mean that there're around 238 millions of lgbt people approx. That's quite a lot.

Isn't there view on gender a little more open so they'd be more likely to be more LGBT? They have a caste of transhish people I believe. Plus they let doods hand hold in friendships which is omega gay.
