Dehumanization - a process of denying humanity to a social group and portraying it as worse/less than human
Russian propaganda has been actively using dehumanization as a process of depriving a group of people of their human qualities against Ukraine since 2014
Susceptibility of Russian society to dehumanization is rooted in colonialism that denied Ukraine's agency and viewed Ukrainian identity as inferior

Russian propaganda inherited the Soviet mass art tradition of portraying Ukrainians as comical, a bit sly, dull, and overshadowed by positive Russian characters
Today Russian media, trolls and bots, and many regular Russians freely use traditional racial slurs against Ukrainians
Normalized slurs are complemented by more than several dozen derogative labels

Ukrainians and any trait of Ukrainian identity, such as language, are marked as ridiculous, inferior, and often compared to that of animals, usually pigs
Based on the negative stereotypes, Russian propaganda quickly encouraged social distance from Ukrainians and started portraying them as a dangerous enemy
The systematic equation of Ukrainians with Nazis turns them into representatives of absolute evil who must be eliminated

After February 24, 2022, Russian propaganda shifted to portraying the whole Ukrainian nation as a Nazi and beyond salvation, indirectly calling to exterminate it
Dehumanization in Russian propaganda has reached the last stage of open support for genocide

>>2fc291 I think these effects are pretty clear, as with other regional purging.
It'd e more interesting if there was cringey PowerPoint or doc on how to epically own Ukraine and totally not encourage a holocaust.
Otherwise, it's just more evidence that authoritarian countries can mobilisis and control it's population then most.
