China isn't real, it's a propaganda construct the CCP made up to legitimize its rule over myriad disconnected ethnic groups. It exists to delegitimize & dehumanize the non-"majority" (non-Han Chinese) ethnic groups under the banner of "one people, one China" See: Yue, Punti, Hakka, Hoklo peoples among others... most of them only survive as cultural entities because representative quantities emigrated pre-CCP.

>>883233 Honestly that's every country in the world if you look hard enough. Hell, the way I speak to my family is probably unintelligible to someone who lives half a city away.
I do think the Chinese government can be pretty nasty in the way it's pushing their minority groups aside, but a multicultural nation-state is not by itself weird.

>>883237 of course, and that extends to the U.S despite what either side of the political spectrum says. There are many who would like to believe their country is wholly homogenous and unified and totally not influenced by other cultures one bit. But for a region as old as China, that statement is particularly untrue.

>>883289 just saying in general because America is young, so it's still seen as 'uncivilized', even among its own people. Like when I talked to a Latino guy and he said NA has no culture due to a lack of traditions, in particular the religious kind, even though both areas are about as old as the other.
Not from here either btw.

>>492741 You're thinking of intangible culture perhaps? Culture doesn't need long to form in a region. China could also be considered a young country (PRC) since communism basically erased the traditions that China was previously founded on.

>>492741 that seems more like a crit of whoooite culture rather than just NA. But who cares about culture if it just determines what McDonald's put on the meal.

>>883289 that's the most common CCP shill tactic. Just comment negatively about china in social media, you'll get accounts who'll go "buuuuuut what about USA????" Or "it's worse in the USA"
