anyone do anything for pride this year?

| ⛄️

| I proudly hit people with a bat in their face

| Continued to be gay

| not really. just changed my discord profile to have the bi flag. I want to do something more fun next year but I think I need more gay friends...

| Jerked off with a dildo in my ass

| Faped to futanarixgirl, enough gay in lesbian way

| yeah, i do crime

| nothing, pride is mostly for kids and baby gays

| Goodbye worst month of the year

| I fucking hate LGTBshit movement

| Not exactly fun, but was part of an event to honour some people who recently got shot at pride here.
And a bit of crime of course.

| got so fucking high

| kept being super chill with my life, i think that's rather gay for me

| Workers get one day
Mothers get one day
Fathers get one day
Women get one day
Men get one day

But a single sociopolitical movement gets an entire month? Someone please explain to me like I'm 5

| >>877699 narcissism

| That's why that dumbass movement gets a month

| And the way the LGBT movement is in recent years 8s one of the main reasons I pretend I'm not gay irl
EVERY TIME THOSE IDIOTS DO SOMETHING PEOPLE HATE GAYS EVEN MORE
Stupid dumbasses making my lofe harder

| thread got raided by basement weirdos it seems

| Weird basement dwellers are like moths to the word pride and the little letter combination.

| I guess I'll actually answer the question then. I didn't actually go to any events, but that's just because I'm reclusive. I guess spending time with my gf counts but that's not out of the ordinary.

| >>877699
Homophobic! You must love gay, trans and other freaks!

| Didn't get the response he wanted so did it himself lol, I can't bro

| >>877793 Sure w/e

I just can't fathom how and why anything or anyone can take an entire month for itself. I'd say the same if it were something other than pride/lgbt+ as well.

Nobody answered my question properly so I'll reiterate. Is there any special reason why an entire month goes to pride, or is it just because someone wanted it to be that way for no reason?

| I hung a Northern Warlords Government of China flag (the ROC from 1912 to 1928) out of my window and pretended it's a pride flag.

| >>877871 lmao it does look like it could be

| >>877864 marginalized groups get special things to level the playing field, same reason we have a black history month and stuff like that. it's not like you're not allowed to be straight during June, not sure why it bothers u so much. I basically didn't notice it was pride the whole month

| What did they do to get a pride month? Because they are gay? Where is furry pride month? Hetero pride month? Otaku pride month? Science month?
I didn't get it. It's seem so stupid for me.

| >>877984

The American version of Pride Month originally started as a form of remembrance of the Stonewall Riots, back when certain cities used to actively persecute the gays:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stonewall_riots

Sadly, its often forgotten or glossed over entirely nowadays, especially since corporations abuse it to sell rainbow flavored garbage, even if they're traditionally anti-gay 11 months out of the year.

| tbh the fact that no one brought this up until I did kinda underlines my point, the point of Pride Month is lost. Hell, I didn't know that this was the reason either.

As it turns out there really is a month for a lot of things, for example a couple months ago was East Asian/South East Asian pride month, which was also started in response to people shitting all over asians, but you just don't hear about that as often because of double standards.

| July is supposedly "sarcoma awareness month." (RIP Technoblade)

| >>877864

See above.

| >>98024e
But why entire month? Is it impossible to establish something like International Gay Day? Like Woman's Day.
It seems to be like a Ramadan in Islam or Fasting in Christianity. Being gay nowadays is like a religion.

| >>877986 >>877987
I thought that was common knowledge. Literally every LGBT person I know views it as a riot mixed with celebration for exactly that reason, and the rioting history of it is not just an American thing but rather worldwide.
Only reason I haven't mentioned it is because the people asking are very obviously disingenuous and baiting for responses and that anyone who cares about LGBTQ+ rights in the slightest already know about that.

| I also think it's important to mention that the LGBTQ+ community is very against rainbow capitalism and all that superficial, exploitative bullshit.
The meaning of pride being lost is very much an outsider perspective, cause all the people I know in the community are very aware of the history, why it's important and why we need to continue.
So I get where you're coming from, that's definitely a narrative that fets pushed heavily, but it's a false one that heavily undermines it.

| >>877992
>is not just an American thing but rather worldwide.
Please, keep your brainwash stuff for yourself, world doesn't need it. If someone wants to be gay, it's ok. If someone dress himself like a woman it's his own business. We have no need of this ridiculous pride, everybody is free to be what he want to be without this posers ****.

| >>98024e Thank you for explaining.

Just to check if I've got it right: Because the stonewall riot happened in June, and the commemorative pride parade one year later, the pride movement basically chose to use the entirety of June as a symbol for the pride movement? Is my understanding correct or are there any other reasons that I missed?

| >>878002

No problem! I believe that's what happened, yes. But looking through more of the wiki article, it seems to be a lot more complicated than that. In an effort to find a more specific article on the subject, I found this article in Brittanica: https://www.britannica.com/story/why-is-pride-month-celebrated-in-june

Apparently it used to only be celebrated on the last Sunday of June, but was officially recognized in 1999 by then president Bill Clinton. I assume it grew from there.

| Wait a sec, is this pride month is just an american festivity?

| Why a month? Why not a month? People died to be gay. It would take longer than a month to study the history of persecution again homosexuality to understand what pride means.

| >>878033
Historically it originates from there (just like workers/labour day) but emancipation of LGBT+ people is an universal issue, since the patriarchate is universal issue - just like class struggle.

| Some gay people died so it's needed to take and entire month to "study the history and understand what pride means"?
Six million Jewish people died in Holocaust and their memorial event only last a day. People do what they need to do during that day and that's it.
The lgbtq+ wants to be accepted by the rest of the society as normal people, yet they keep doing craps no normal people would ever do or behave, making the rest still sane lgbtq people looks bad and weird IMO.

| >>57f5ff
>Six million Jewish people died in Holocaust and their memorial event only last a day.
Don't you people insist that the Holocaust never happened?

| Normal people are proud of working hard or saving lives. You are just a faggot.

This shit made me hate lgbt.

>>878099
I wish it happened

| >>878099
What do you mean "you people"? I'd not understand what your question has anything to do to the main topic of discussion.
In case that you have missed my point in >>878088. I think it is unnecessary to take a whole month every year just to celebrate lgbtq+, or to study the related historical events. If anyone wished to know the in and out of the history of lgbtq+ you can do it at anytime you like, not just in one particular month. It makes no sense at all.

| >>878088 Worldwide people study WWII so we remember. But I don't know any educational system that touches on gay movements, so we have a month to do so. I swear are right-wingers back to being closeted and self-hating again?

| >>878111
No. They're just saying random bullshit and changing what they say constantly cause they want attention.

Also, fuck the maids for putting yet another LGBT thread in /new/. Y'all want the threads to become cancerous and encourage the behaviour of samefagging VPN cunts. That's some weird shit. Encouraging that on the site and viewing everything even remotely LGBTQ+ related as political and something to discuss is weird af.

| find a job, make your parents proud

| I love the fact that, whenever a thread in other boards gets heated, it's automatically moved to /new/

| >>878017 Interesting. Didn't know that it had been endorsed by previous presidents. Rather than growing after being endorsed, from the article it seems like it grew since the first parade, up until the point where it was officially recognised.

| >>878181

Huh, good point!

| Ima be honest, I'm not sure if pride stuff ever really meant a whole lot to me. On top of not really liking big parade party stuff.I either didn't think it applied to me at the time, was on my way to becoming >>57f5ff >>3fcd81, or had the cynical rainbow capitalism view of it.

| >>878173 It is funny, and I get that they want to keep a organic spontaneous enegry, but I agree with>>878160 if the maids were more proactive on that shit, LGBTQ threads wouldn't be heated in the first place.

| I think maids did a good job moving this politic stuff here.

| was too scared of getting hate crimed to go to a parade lol

| >>878308
Valid tbh. Especially with some of those statistics being on the rise and shootings and shit's, it's scary.

| Pride to be smoll

| I proudly hit people in their faces

| >>878160
>Y'all
Opinion ignored

| >>878870 I've seen this treatment multiple times on anyone typing "Y'all", why is that? Genuinely curious

| >>878909 because it was written by a n*igger

| America desperately needs to be denazified.

| >>878915????????????????

| >>878937 meh... danger /u/ can't in emoji
