>>852688 They've been under severe lockdown for over 3 weeks. Now reports are coming in that people are getting evicted from their homes to be used as quarantine centers. But the details aren't so clear. Are they illegal residents? Living in hotels? wtf is going on. XJP can go straight to hell. https://www.infobae.com/en/2022/04/14/repression-and-eviction-in-shanghai-residents-are-forced-to-leave-their-homes-to-be-used-as-a-quarantine-site/

It's weird that certain places like Israel and some Chinese metropolises are getting hit so hard when the omicron variant isn't known for being particularly deadly, unless there's a new variant? I had hoped the pandemic would end soon since here in Canada only the mask mandate is left in place.

It feels strange that at the start of the pandemic, China *seemed* to have largely controlled and annihilated the virus. They even gloated about it for a bit.

This is just hearsay but apparently the Chinese covid vaccine didn't have a long-term effect, and now that the effect is wearing off they are being hit hard by new covid cases.

>>852948 I don't think there's much relevance to that since Israel has a near 100% vaccination rate with US vaccines yet covid exploded there. In china it probably has to do with their zero-covid policy which leads to thousands of people huddled outside in the cold in line for mandatory testing. fucking idiotic

Shanghai has a very high degree of autonomy, this has allowed its economy to develop rapidly. But the same, the arrogance of local governments has largely led to the bad situation in Shanghai.

>>853661 They have excluded skilled logistics companies living materials distribution and found some security guards and volunteers to do this job. Such an absurd scene can not be seen anywhere except Shanghai. All provinces and individuals have prepared living materials to support Shanghai, but they hoard living materials and sell them to citizens at very high prices through apartment management organizations. Even if a large number of vegetables in the warehouse decay slowly.

>>853661 I am very sad to see that our friends in Shanghai are in such a situation. I am also very angry that all our efforts have become tools used by businessmen to exploit the people. We original intention is to solve their food problem, But the middle class can hardly afford food now, much less the poor guy.

I don't want to refute some political prejudices. I just hope that the covid19 can pass as soon as possible and Shanghai can return to normal as soon as possible.
