| To be fair: There is a couple of issues ALL ex-soviet countries have in common - including russia itself. Such as racism, massive corruption, autocratic tendencies, neo-nazism and fascism and a ridicolous overdose of nationalism. Even thought the western portrayal of them was always very selective and anti-russian its a fact that some of these issues are way more advanced in russia (and belarus).

Neo-Nazism is much more prevalent in Ukraine than the rest, but they all have issues with corruption, for sure. Russia tends to be less racist than the others bc they have a much more diverse population ethnically. Russia also does not suffer from Islamophobia and all the polls done in recent years indicate Russian think rather highly of them (including Putin himself), but this is also do to the fact that Russia has a lot of Muslims, where as Belarus and Ukraine do not.

You have to distinguish between the stalinist and the pre- and post stalinist USSR. Neither the communist ideology nor the soviets propagated or justified the enslavement or murdering of million of people. The inhumanity of real-socialist governments was always a violation of their own ideals. The inhumanity of fascist governments was always inherent part of the ideology. And in capitalism the responsible rulers (capitalists) distract well from their responsibility.
