Chinese scientists develop Quantum Analog Computing chip

| Chinese scientists demonstrated the first two-dimensional quantum walks of single photons in real spatial space, which may provide a powerful platform to boost analog quantum computing. Scientists at Shanghai Jiaotong University reported in a paper published in the journal Science Advances a three-dimensional photonic chip with a scale up to 49x49 nodes, by using a technique called femtosecond direct writing.

| Now, quantum analog computing is a different beast from quantum digital, as is being struggled with at IBM, Google, Alibaba, etc. The later are error prone, have issues with results correction when more than a few qubits are involved and these errors scale up at fantastic rates when more qubits are put into the equetion.
Analog quantum on the other hand are... well, analog. There is no correction to think of. These systems are straightforward to build.

| And the results produced are precise and correct, can immediately solve existing practical problems. Another name for such systems is "Quantum Simulator". They already have the potential to beat the computational power of classic computing as it exists today.

So yea, this is more like it. Because in the end, if you want to simulate reality, which is analog, it is only best done with analog systems.
This the right direction to pursue!
