| The claim that poor colonists are victims is usually pretty wrong. During the British empire, the British working class got better wages and loads of opportunities, even if the rich got most of them. Things are the same today. Giving the poor power would make the USA dysfunctional enough not to oppress, but it would also cut off the stolen stuff going to the usa’s poor.

What you're talking about? The Kongo region was historically always religious dominated by archaic pagan/animistic spiritualism. Even in todays Kongo nations muslims are a minority. The kongolesian Bantu kingdoms had tight trade relations (including slave trade) with the Ottomans, but never really belonged to the "islamic world" - which always was pretty heterogenous itself and still is.

My therapist was talking to me about how I really fail at tasks which take more than a few seconds.
