Some 52 per cent of Gen Z - people aged between 13 and 27 - said “the UK would be a better place if a strong leader was in charge who does not have to bother with parliament and elections”.
The poll, which was conducted for Channel 4's ‘Gen Z: Trends, Truth and Trust’ report, also found one in three young people want the army in charge of the country.
Meanwhile, 47 per cent agreed “the entire way our society is organised must be radically changed through revolution”.

The findings from polling company Craft, based on a sample of 3,000 adults of all ages, also revealed a “growing gender divide” amongst youngsters.
Some 45% of young men said “we have gone so far in promoting women’s equality that we are discriminating against men”, while a similar proportion agreed “when it comes to giving women equal rights, things have gone far enough”.

Responding to questions about media, 58% of Gen Z said they trusted social media posts from friends as much as established journalism while influencers including Andrew Tate and Jordan Peterson had a similar trust of 42% of young men.

Alex Mahon, chief executive of Channel 4, said the data showed that Gen Z were simultaneously the country’s most authoritarian and liberal generation.
“They are media savvy, switched on and smart, but have been exposed to the full force of the polarising, confusing and sometimes wilfully misleading nature of social media since they were born,” she said.

She added that young people faced “growing uncertainty” on who to trust and were equally confident in traditional and alternative media sources.
She said: “Gen Z curate their own understanding of ‘the truth’. For many, this is exacerbating societal tensions and undermining the value of democracy.”

I can't say how valid the study data really is but I do feel these people sampled assume dictators are like magic genies that make treats appear and most likely would never last a day living in Russia or North Korea.

I feel with how people like this thing, along with electing idealogue hacks or even getting pissy change doesn't happen the day after a new party is elected is like "I want treats, no work just treats!"
Mix of magical thinking, vibes based politics and a lack of education on the time needed to grow the ecomony or get things done.

The eternal anglo - enemy of white men. We should drag all extended royal families worldwide to respective central squares and execute them for being royalty. No men will be free while a sliver of royalty exists. Revolutions didnt finish their job.

>>1041922 I think that’s a big problem but it seems like there’s a lot of problems we’re just not allowed to vote to fix and I think that makes people frustrated and self destructive.
The military might do an ok job though they have some sense of professionalism and class mobility.

It's not only zoomers, the general population of western countries are being fed uncertainty and doubt against democracy and social progress, But they subconsciously know that a generally free democracy will always be better than a dictatorship. It's in the numbers and facts. That's why the number of democracies in the world are going up slowly but surely.
People need to be more patient. And to focus on the most relevant issues for each nation. We also need to be more accurate.

>>1042253 I suppose she didn’t say more precise ; ) I liked her post. She seems responsible or at least trying to be. If she’s in prison she should be let out. But do you really think it’s all on propagandists? Most western countries look similar to me and there must be some not being targeted by russia. I think it’s like slavery where we have problems we’ve been kicking down the road we can’t ignore any more. Also Asian countries are less democratic than many 3rd world ones right?

Doesn’t democracy only work when people care about overall prosperity and have enough information? Like in Venezuela they let the people vote to help the poor have wealth but that means the economy cratered from mismanagement and now they’re poor again. In the US we’re not allowed to have as much but the economy does ok because the economies dictators generally take care of it. Eastern style kleptocracy is bad but I don’t know if we can make social progress
