The panopticon

| how do I galvanize my normie friends into hating it too?

| What are You Waffling on About

| Elaborate g/u/rl

| Like the surveillance state, corporate surveillance, that kind of stuff. We're all being watched, almost all the time, and my friends just act like it's normal or that there's nothing they can do about it. If we all got out of that mindset we could change things, at least a little bit for each other.

| it is normal! its so normal! I love it!

| Why would I care. As if I could stop tech companies to spy every inch of my life at this point.

The best that can be done is just hope that they just use it to advertise useless shit and not to opress minorities, but otherwise it's impossible to stop tech companies from studying me like a test specimen.

| aye... all i'm saying is mitigation. simple shit.

| Tell them it's the same thing as the biopticon

| getting rid of all the spyware/surveilance studf is kinda fun ngl

it's fun and rewarding when you're learning new things but after xx number of years you get really fucking sick and tired of it

| >>969341
they're all in on it

| >>969648
literal paranoia

| appreciate the advice g/u/rls. unironically though, It's nice to know I'm not alone in my feelings of frustration.
Sometimes I feel like the only solution is to chuck my phone in the river and find a gay commune to work in till my bones are ground to dust. I know a gal offline what says if she ever gets hers off the ground I have a spot reserved there.

| >>969878
Why not go help her?

| It can be a real pain in the ass and one of the modern issues today i fell is convenience. Should something be too much of a hassle alot of people will drop it. For alot there is just too much going on in their snowglobe to give a fuuuark.

| not to commie post on an anonymous textboard but really the only way anything gets done about this is class consciousness. tech companies work for profit and spying on people is profitable. governments and business walk side by side on that line with the added interest on surveiling whoever might be an enemy of the state (real enemies btw if you're just some shitter lefty like me you have nothing to worry about.)

| also unless you plan on going all out on the anonymization then you're better off just being part of the herd. tinkering with browser safety shit just makes your data stand out more than the millions of standard never-touched-the-browser-settings connections that are made everyday.
