Cyberpunk in real life

| Can you point something in the real life that have close resembles to typical cyber/neopunk?

| Depending on what definition of cyberpunk you use, every piece of technology today can be considered “cyberpunk”.

| Something you could see in, let's say, Akira or GITS.

| Phones, Deck, BCI, digital currency, chip cards, VR, hw specs etc.

| burner phones is cyberpunk as fuck

| Social media.

| Going to this very board with a terminal browser such as lynx or w3m and shitposting is pretty cyberpunk as well.

| >>842589 no.. just my ai did become dominant and suggestive too much xd

| I own a self-built portable device which sole purpose is to hack into stuff. That's kinda cyberpunk, right?

| Metro Manila. I still believe is the most cyberpunk city on the planet. Though Kowloon or some other classic settings may overtake this.

| Not exactly neo/cyberpunk, but I always thought the Georgian city, Batumi, looked like a hub for time travelers.

| I always thought that primary elements of cyberpunk is an internet, corruption, and cybernetics. so basically, find a hacker with prosthetic arm in philippines. can't get more cyberpunk than that.

| my sanity is breaking down facing my pc all day working from home, so im ordering a 4k smart tv online for some sort of relief even if i dont need it. Is my brief life scenario enough to be considered as present-day cyberpunk

| >>845804
Why did you buy a botnet TV though?

| >>845845 hold up i need to look up what botnet means

| >>845847
Many Smart TVs feature a technology called Automatic Content Recognition (ACR), which essentially "sees" and keeps a record of everything displayed on your Smart TV screen, from TV shows to games and apps. This data is sold to advertisers and other companies to help target ads, viewing recommendations, and other services to you.

| They are also essentially remote listening devices. It's a good idea to restrict or disable your TV’s mic and camera via its settings and the FBI even recommends taping up the camera with black tape.

Make sure to always keep the firmware and software up to date. Putting off an update may expose you to vulnerabilities that have been fixed in an app’s newer version.

| Well doesnt that sound pretty cyberpunky
