Outside Gamestops are common places for people to look for old, often in good condition, vidya game boxes. You can resell those for a pretty penny. You'll also often find old games that are in perfect condition that the company couldn't sell and couldn't be arsed to list online.
Keep in mind however that some businesses consider the dumpster part of their property, so in some places they will attack you and shit for "stealing," even though it's technically legal.
