Will cyberpunk ever die?

| Or ever become so niche that no one knows about it? Since it's kind of based on an 80s-90s perspective on the future I think it might age

| It will come back in style when the *real* future happens (Idiocracy)

| I doubt the aesthetic will ever become so niche it dies, any more than goth or hip-hop aesthetics will die. There's always going to be a portion of the population it appeals to.
And there's always going to be a place for the slow-burn corporate horror stories that are part of cyberpunk, because it reflects fears of what might/is happening.

And even if we reach the point where there's no longer that active fear, it's become a part of the western cultural gestalt.
