Sunday, MIT Tech. reported that a researcher from Shenzhen has claimed to have successfully modified a human embryo that was carried to term as a pair of twin girls.
They were modified with the N European genetic mutation that makes some people resistant/immune to HIV.
While the secrecy in which the experiment was carried out has been publicly condemned,I expect this will open the door to wider genetic experiments, especially in China where there was no actual law against it.
