BTL: Better Than Life(tm) chips from Shadowrun, which were based on a similar drug described in Neuromancer fits the bill.
Imagine the hallucinogenic properties of Acid, except extremely addictive and capable of making you actually confuse a fantasy world (created and programmed by the designer of said BTL) for the real one, because the chip literally burns out that part of your brain.
So, kinda like what happens to DiCaprio's wife in Inception.

you can go wild with the effects honestly. but the standard cyberpunk drug is something that allows you to escape into a fantasy world (because reality sucks)
alternatively, something that ramps up normal human capabilities for supersoldiers/police/characters getting into lots of fights
