Can i get some assistance on drawing realistic water reflection and refraction, both underwater and above it. It supposed to be as simple as drawing shadows but then the varieties confuses so i seek some clear direction for it
The environment and objects are prepared/drawn before hand so it is about predicting the resulting wffects?

Literally use reference materials. Failing that, go inseminate yourself with your own hand underwater and see what it looks like. Practical experience is always the best experience.

Read James Gurney's book Color and Light. Theres a section there about caustics that can help you understand how light affects surfaces underwater, and the surface of water itself.

>>882991 yeah it s water but not caustics but reflection and refraction on the water waves' seen from above and below...esp below and how the refractions make the water looks almost silvery and the reflections sort of "blends" the wave to the background... such and such. The book s kinda expensive has lots of dinosaurs' whats my other option?

>>883052 pirate a PDF somewhere. Even if it's not particularly what your looking for, its still a highly recommended book that every artist should look through
