Is anime have close to Soap opera
| With all the melodrama going on in the anime and just how it ponders to romantically depraved weirdos, I'd say you are pretty sane to assume it to be close to a soap opera. Also presentation about soap opera on anime con? Wow that's something I haven't heard
| Soap opera are made as quickly as possible with no regard of ending as long as the viewers are watching. In that sense, shounen like dragon ball, jojo, and naruto does fit the criteria; considering it went and use up all known cliche tropes to extend the story like dead guy come back to life, time travel, and story so derailed that we are following the children of main protagonist.
But I don't think the majority of other anime are like that.

| >>966928 eh, one piece has a clear goal and the story is obviously at late stage. The author also seem to be fatigued for constantly having to pump up a chapter every week. I saw analysis video about how the later islands are a combined concept because they want to finish the series as fast as they can.
Now, if one piece went amnesia mode or add another powerful group on top of the Yonko, then we can call it soap opera.

| Today i was on presentation about popular soap opera in my country (on animecon) it was halfly satirical halfly serious. And i feel mindfucked and maybe gaslighted..
What are you thinking about it? Is anime having something similar with soap opera? Am i becoming senior in grand age?
