I mean, mc just jump under truck, die and get reincarnated as.. *fill your option*. But, why anime need this? is this new kind of "fan service"? Way how to make fans enjoy this stupid story line part? or is there something deep to understand? I just sometimes feel that first minutes - (whole episode) are filler before real prologue..
What are you thinking about it? I really want to know ^^

i don't know. i don't really enjoy the generic isekai stuff, but whenever i'm in a mood for some trashy manga it's usually my go-to genre.

It's purpose is an easy way to make the audience relate to the MC. Also works well for making the MC a self-insert for the viewer and their escapism fantasies.

If you're looking for a great 'isekai', watch .hack//Sign

I think it started by lazy writers, cutting corners on the protagonist's background. Why make a long and detailed lore of the protag if I can just say "it's basically you, transported to another world"? And because people's life is either shitty or boring, more people unironically ask for isekai to self-insert into.
It's also an easy way to justify having OP protag just by having him aware of fantasy/video game tropes and knowledge of modern tech.

>>952047 i don't watch isekai honestly, but when i get for example to youjo senki Story spoiler: Character is pushed under train.. but it was necessary? Tanya is born as kid and there is in-world story about his/her grow up too, so i feel that story can be cutted and start without being told from real world.. I don't think that train was needed.. crossing of worlds feel little weird

>>951869 because it's cheap and easy wish fulfillment. The life of the salaryman os awful, but here's a cute selection of waifus and an MC you can easily substitute yourself for. Japan has some serious issues.
