reminder than the quality goes downhill after lost children and by the beginning of the millenium falcon arc it is already hot garbage tier
That's the feel I got. It was kind of heartwarming seeing Guts gradually become "more human" and gradually deal with his severe PTSD and trauma by effectively having a new pseudo-family to take care of as his death approached. I came for and liked the horror and ultraviolence aspect, don't get me wrong, but I thought Berserk was a rare example of someone undergoing serious character development that didn't need some radical life changing experience or plot necessity.
