Why old anime used excessively bright shades of red for blood?

| Anyone has any idea?
I'm gonna Google it now but I think it'd be cool to have a discussion here(dangeru is kinda slow today)

| Any specific anime that you can gave as an example? From what I remember, I saw a lot of darker shades.

| Stuff like Hokuto no ken amd the Baoh OVA
The blood is almost glowing in many scenes

| They probably didn't think too hard about it and the bright colors can be stylish in a way is what I think.

| I think it's to do with old CRT TV not very good at showing contrast? I'm just spitballing though

| >>c29fbb Yeah I was just about to post the same thing

| Post-apocalyptic radioactive blood maybe.

| Maybe it was a way to censor blood making it unrealistic as most animes I can remember from the 80s used blood with dark tones and I can't remember blood being different unless counting Picollo from DB

| Watch gungrave also check out the new gungrave game. Like really why are you guys gonna watch the anime I have been recommending for years here!?

| Most here have not even seen blood in real life. What to say about anime ...

| >>596638 wtf have you never had a nosebleed? Have you never been a kid and never had injures on your legs?

~Have never you ever cut yourself~

It's really hard for a person to not have seen blood, you can even see it in raw meat.

Have never seen blood? What are you, a boy?

| >>596638
Bro, what are you on about? Everyone's seen blood. Blood is chill.

The android sex worker vampires of Bubblegum Crisis (ep 5 or 6? Can't remember). They have glowing blood! Meanwhile Priss has regular bright red blood.
