I actually know what you're talking about. I had/have(?) the same problem.
I do realize that what I'm about to type will be on the same level as facebook-dwelling teenage psychology experts saying "Just be happy" to a depressed person. Nevertheless, I managed to partially overcome this problem that way.
You can either: 1) Train your mind to be more focused, devote yourself to some kind of goal. It can be anything, from "I will start jogging" to "I'll learn a new language".

Pinching yourself when your train of thought starts to derail helps too
2) Find a creative output, turn your fantasy into something. Hell, something as simple as writing stories on wattpad will do.
