| Android is much better than apple. We even have the option between different launchers ffs! Just make sure you get a phone that is compatible with your cellphone carrier.
BTW Android is the OS, not the phone.
I would suggest a durable phone like the ulephone armor 6. It comes with Android 8.1, which means project treble support/lineageos. BTW, it's half the cost of an iPhone. So like convert your family too!
You can transfer everything to Android through the initial setup, too.
