Frozen Combat
| I think most of the time because it is a manga adaptation. In manga, you can aford having speech bubles while the characters are clashing swords/moving. While in anime, the sfx, camera movement, and flashy lights will distract the viewers from reading the sub. It is also cheaper to have them talk during fights, so that they can just pan an image for 5-10 seconds instead of animating stuff. Another reason is usually because they are pulling bullshit moves thay needs to be explained.

| Why does Anime seem to freeze time when someone feels the need to talk during combat? They'll be in the middle of a fast paced fist fight flying towards each other in mid air and they'll just go on a 20 second dialog tangent before they continue the fight. I believe they live in a different dimension where they can freeze time and still hear each other, change my mind.
