Should anime lose its "japanesity"?

| Should anime try to reach a broader, international audience by sanitizing itself and removing notable japanese elements?

| Personally I think, in general, it shouldn't.
There's a reason anime got so popular and beloved, and it wasn't because it was neutered or made just like western media

The only exception to this train of thought, is that I still think "innovation and creativity" should be the priorities of anime artists/makers
