Finally, a review where I don't loathe the show! It's kinda refreshing, a newish take on an old subject; mid-30's failure gets freak accident superpowers (become kaiju) and must succeed in his dreams and win the distant love of his childhood friend. Lots of monster battles and infantry that aren't useless. Would have liked a little more backstory on kaiju motivations, and Kaiju No. 9 just looks silly. Overall a fun and enjoyable ride. 7/10, but 9/10 compared to what's airing now.
