AI seems to threaten entry level programming jobs, it feels like if someone started their studies now, all entry level jobs will be gone by the time they graduate. Is it even worth it anymore?

AI isn't very good at programming. They can do it, but the code is messy and very exploitable from a security standpoint. AI won't take all the jobs anytime soon... I hope.
I think it's very valuable to know how to code even if you do not work as a programmer though.

Imo ai programming is likely to be seen as really advanced intellisense or basically predictive text for code
Having chat gpt give you a whole working thing will probably exist for small scripting things but it's unlikely to make a big project that are actually critical to important systems
Programmers jobs may shift to auditing the output of an ai and structuring the overall project more than programming yourself though

>>961258 This 100%, AI is good with small details but bad at the bigger picture. Human oversight will remain necessary though such positions will certainly be less plentiful than current programming jobs.
Digital security will likely need humans a lot more than other areas, having your security completely done by AI puts it at risk of being exploited by AI experts (and AI trained against yours). Security analysts will eating good regardless of how the code is made.
