small cool thing I guess

| I noticed today scrolling in firefox stopped working.

turns out an update 2 days ago broke compatibility with x-mouse button control.

the cool thing is both parties already acknowledged this very specific issue. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/x-mouse-button-control-firefox-110

this implies there are enough firefox employees who use xmbc to notice it so soon.

pretty nifty situation I think.

| Update: It was xmbc team/user who discovered the issue with nightly firefox builds back in december.

I don't know. I guess it's less cool to know that it went nearly 2 months without being fixed.

Aw man.

| mozilla fired a ton of people like last years. it's ran by actual retards. sucks cause firefox is such good software. those mfs just don't listen to shit.

those jackasses will slap WONTFIX on everything on bugzilla.

they don't give a fuck about their users.

| i remember when they made the ui bloated... again. it was fine as is but i keep on having to configure shit to unfuck these updates.

sorry for the vent.

| I use ungoogled chromium

| Use TB and if you're a fag you can config it to be transparent (novpn)

| >>941955 using chrome ungoogled or not still supports Google's hold over the internet

| >>942116 accept it

lol no

| >>942128 if chrome adds jxl support and Firefox doesn't I'll switch to a chrome based browser and make a post here

| Use Brave + Tor.

| >>942166 just set image.jxl.enabled to true in ff.

| What's the cons of using Opera? I've been thinking switching from Firefox for a while now and once you get used to some stuff it seems a solid upgrade.

Con: A Chinese consortium purchased the company behind the browser in 2016 for $600 million. The leading buyer was Qihoo 360, a search and security company.

This might alarm some people, as China isn’t exactly known as a bastion of digital security. However, all companies are listed publically, meaning they must adhere to strict regulations when it comes to privacy. Moreover, Opera is still based in Norway, where GDPR and other EU laws are in force.

Now i like Opera a little less. Still built-in vpn is way too useful for me to stop using it, even if it gets too slow sometimes.

| >>942371 a good vpn is five bucks a month you broke ass nigga

Used to use Avast Secure Line but it stopped working for some reason and customer support was like "yeah tough shit bro lol" and this was when i was on the 2nd month of a yearly plan.
